Privacy Policy

kickbacks (“kickbacks,” “we,” “us”) is a companion app that shows an ad while you wait in League of Legends matchmaking and accrues a rewards balance for you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions? Email support@kickbacks.lol.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile (name and Google account identifier) through our authentication provider. We never see your Google password.
• Activity data. While you are in matchmaking, the app generates “view events” describing that an ad was shown — the game, the surface (queue), timestamps, and viewability details such as how long the ad was on screen and whether the app window was focused. We do not collect your gameplay, keystrokes, chat, or screen captures.
• Rewards balance. A server-side ledger we derive from your qualifying view events.
• What we do not collect. We do not collect payment or financial information — the current version accrues a balance only and does not process payouts.

How we use your information

• Authenticate you and keep you signed in.
• Credit your rewards balance for qualifying ad views.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and invalid activity.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the service.
• Communicate with you about the service (for example, launch and account updates).

Advertising

Ads are served through Overwolf’s advertising network. Overwolf and its advertising partners may collect information (such as device and advertising identifiers) subject to their own privacy policies. See the Overwolf Privacy Policy.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run kickbacks, and your data may be processed by them:

• Google — sign-in.
• Supabase — authentication and database.
• Vercel — website and API hosting.
• Overwolf — the app platform and ad network.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers above as needed to run kickbacks, or when required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Data retention

We keep your account and activity data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your data by emailing support@kickbacks.lol.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your data — access is limited to server-side keys and encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

• Access, correct, or delete your data by contacting us.
• Sign out of the app at any time.
• Revoke kickbacks’ access from your Google Account’s security settings.

Children

kickbacks is not directed to children under 13, and you must meet League of Legends’ own minimum age requirement to use it. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
